HADIQ Talk

Terms of use

Last updated: [OWNER: date]

1. About these terms

These terms are between you and hadiq.io Ltd (company number 16349516, [OWNER: registered address]), the maker of HADIQ Talk. Apple's standard licence (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies to the app. If these terms conflict with it on the use of the app from the App Store, Apple's terms win.

2. What HADIQ Talk is

A language practice app for German and Spanish (Spain). It includes free practice that works on your iPhone, Hadi Free (a text-and-voice tutor: free on iPhones with Apple Intelligence; on other iPhones it uses your talk minutes), and Live Hadi, a real-time voice conversation with an AI tutor that uses talk minutes.

Hadi is an AI, not a person, teacher, lawyer or doctor. Its answers, corrections, letter explanations and suggestions can be wrong. Check anything important, especially official letters and deadlines, with the sender or a professional.

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple ID secure. You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings › Account › Delete account); this doesn't cancel an App Store subscription (see §4).

4. Plans, minutes and payment

  • Plans are monthly auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the App Store:
    • Talk: [OWNER: €/£4.99] per month with 60 live minutes;
    • Talk Plus: [OWNER: €/£9.99] per month with 150 live minutes. Local prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Payment and renewal are handled by Apple. You're charged when you subscribe and at the start of each month until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
  • Minutes expire. A month's minutes are valid until the end of that subscription month and don't roll over.
  • Top-ups ([OWNER: €/£4.99] for 45 minutes) are for active subscribers and valid for 12 months.
  • Family minutes given with an offer code are free, valid for [OWNER: 60] days and can't be exchanged for money.
  • Which minutes are used first: the minutes that expire first.
  • Refunds are decided by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). If Apple refunds a purchase, its unused minutes are removed; minutes already used can't be returned. Repeated refunds after use can lead to live calls being paused.
  • Calls end when your minutes do. You'll get a warning shortly before; the call then ends politely.
  • Free practice stays available without a plan; so does Hadi Free on iPhones with Apple Intelligence.
  • On iPhones without Apple Intelligence, Hadi Free replies, reviews and AI game checks use your minutes: about 30 replies per minute (a review counts as two replies). Pronunciation scores use minutes on every iPhone: about 2 seconds per 5 seconds of recording.

5. Fair use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to get around minute limits, share or resell access, automate calls, reverse engineer our servers, or use Hadi to create unlawful, abusive or harmful content. We may pause live calls on an account that breaks these rules and will tell you why in the app.

6. Changes and availability

We may change features, plans and prices. Price changes for subscriptions follow Apple's rules (Apple asks you first where required). We work to keep the service available but can't promise it will always be. Live calls depend on Microsoft Azure.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of your country's mandatory consumer law and can bring a claim there.
